Cayden Turns One!

Hey! Do you have any idea how fast a year moves? Pretty freakin fast, yall.
For example, little Cayden: I shot both his newborn photos, and his mama's maternity photos, like, yesterday. Now I'm in a park taking his first birthday shots. I can't understand the speed-of-light movement that is happening with these littles.
Oh motherhood, the days are long but the years fly by.

Can I also tell you about how gorgeous this family is, and how incredibly sweet these children are?
We decided to shoot locally in along the trail of a park in East Brunswick. There is a lake, and a lot of moss, so it set this earthy, soft mood. Cayden didn't exactly jump in the cake (lets be honest, most 1 year olds don't) but he still charmed us in his little way.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Room You Don't Mind Sharing

I decided that in this "four bedroom" house that I would have my two young children, ages 4 and 2, share a room. Why stick them together when we obviously have the space? A lot of reasons! It's been proven that kids actually do better in room sharing situtations, it's good for bonding. Also, it's easier for bed time. I can sit in with both kids at the same time instead of running from room to room. And best of all, I don't have to clean up two rooms anymore! We paired down on so much of their toys and clothes, too. That really helps live minimally and keeps the rooms peaceful.

MY KIDS LOVE ANIMALS. I know most kids do but my kiddos are obsessed. They watch Animal Planet over cartoons sometimes. So we went with a jungle theme. It's colorful, youthful, and stylish.

Two matching twin beds with mis-matched sheeting. It gives them a little bit of their own personality. The green palm leaf wallpaper brings energy into the space and anchors the two beds.
