I decided that in this "four bedroom" house that I would have my two young children, ages 4 and 2, share a room. Why stick them together when we obviously have the space? A lot of reasons! It's been proven that kids actually do better in room sharing situtations, it's good for bonding. Also, it's easier for bed time. I can sit in with both kids at the same time instead of running from room to room. And best of all, I don't have to clean up two rooms anymore! We paired down on so much of their toys and clothes, too. That really helps live minimally and keeps the rooms peaceful.
MY KIDS LOVE ANIMALS. I know most kids do but my kiddos are obsessed. They watch Animal Planet over cartoons sometimes. So we went with a jungle theme. It's colorful, youthful, and stylish.

Two matching twin beds with mis-matched sheeting. It gives them a little bit of their own personality. The green palm leaf wallpaper brings energy into the space and anchors the two beds. |

The ceiling light fixture is actually just a lamp shade I purchased from Lowes. I took off the glass "boob light" and attached the lampshade with the hardware from that. |

YEP I'm a TV in the bedroom person. My kids don't even pay attention to it most of the time. I made a little fun gallery wall with some odds and ends, mostly from Target, and I plan to put some photos I took at Disney's Animal Kingdom in those frames. |

This dresser is from IKEA (Tarva). It has been 4 different colors and been my dresser, used as a buffet in one of my dining rooms, and then finally landed in this room. I painted it a subtle gray and left the top stained. I changed the pulls with these twine rope ones, which i purchased from Home Goods. |

Each kid has a wall sconce and access to turn it on and off. Good for reading in bed! |

The bed linen is from H&M and while not technically an animal print, it gives off that spotted animal vibe. |

This low to the ground versatile bookshelf is from Pillowfort and I try to keep all of the books in ROY G. BIV order because I'm crazy. The odd shaped or oversized books go on the bottom. Nothing high up, nothing that will tip over. Kids have easy access. |

At the bottom of their beds is a rattan trunk, also from Target, that I use to wrangle all of their stuffed animals. I didn't want anything that had latches, because of pinched fingers, and certainly not anything that can close and/or lock. these are lightweight and beautiful. |
So that's their room! They do love it, do not mind room sharing, and spend a lot of time up there. I'm so happy I made this move and am thrilled with the way it came out. How do you like it? Let me know in the comments!
